| For ATCT/Tracon trainees and recently certified controllers...or whomever. Is training at a lower volume facility a quicker way to get certified? Is or would it be worth it? |

| Junior Member | Yes training at a lower level facility would be quicker. The pay however is directly linked to the level of facility so remember that.

| At a level 7 tower your could expect to be in training somewhere around 6-7 months but if you go to a level 12 it could take that amount of time to just get ground control cert. The pay is reflected in the level tower you are at but if you check out sooner at a lower level tower your raises come faster and you can transfer faster to a larger facility with more pay. |

| Thanks for the info. My objective is to certify quickly and come back to my home town. I'm considering an offer from Michigan and will probably accept if it's not Detroit. |
