Usually the nest step will involve being contacted to schedule the medical, psych test, and background check. Most likely you will be contacted by mail. Keep in mind... this is the Gov't ... things do not always move fast.

Good luck to you.

BTW, were you a CTI or did you just take the ATSAT "off the street" ?

I was one of the "off the streets", although the college that I attended and did not graduate from is a CTI school. I can't see spending that kind of money for school and then making $9.25/hr for 4months, but it is what it is. The contractor that proctored the test said something to the affect that we are coming up to the 4th quarter of the fiscal year and historically the gvt does not do much hiring during that time, so either I'll go through the process very soon or sometime in 08. Thanks for the info.

The Fiscal year for the Gov't is in the Fall, late September or early October, I can't recall exactly when it is. Generally by mid to late summer Gov't agencies start running low on the years funding, the FAA had funding to hire about 1100 people this year, that is a lot to get trhough OKC so they may have money all the way to the new fiscal year.

FAA reauthorization is being battled in congress now ... that could very well boost hiring for the new fiscal year.

Transferring in the centers is a bit of a gamble... I applied to transfer from Oakland Center to anywhere in Southern California, and that took 10 years and a hardship request.

T-shirts in LA center (back when you could wear them) said, "25 years to life, LA Center".

The terminal enviroment is a bit easier to move around, but frankly anything right now is a crap shoot. Going from terminal to center is supposed to "cross business lines", which really means lazy buearocrats can't account for something that we've always done.

Which leads me to my admonition. If you were hired, and subsequently checked out in a tower, then bid and got a center... Don't wash out, 'cuz they'll probably fire you.

Still wanna transfer?

Are the questions that you are asked only dealing with systems, procedure, situational, etc. I have always wondered.

Thanks.

How difficult would it be to transfer from Alaska to Indianapolis Center?
