| Senior Member | So I was doing ramp control today at JFK and was monitoring the ground frequency as I normally do, and got word that AA was declaring an emergency, I heard the ground controller say "all emergency vehicles code 33 31L" does anyone know what that code means??? |

| Old Skool | In standard 10-XX codes a33 would have everybody leave the frequency open for emergency traffic to follow. Dunno if JFK ARFF uses the same standard. |

| Senior Member | A Code 3 is usually reserved for airplanes that have crashed.
