Default b12 deficiency question

Hello doc,

I have recently been diagnosed with a b12 deficiency. I am currently not flying due to the symptoms and am curious about your opinion.
My b12 level was in the medium to low range of 403, but my methylmalonic acid came back a wopping 1475 where high is said to be 318. I have had lots of nuerological tests, endocrine tests, hematoligist tests and a upper and lower GI. So far every test I have done is normal except the methylmalonic acid. The nuero has me doing b12 injections 1000mcg once a week for a month and then 1000mcg once a month. My symptoms of light headedness, vision disturbances, and fatigue are not really improving drastically with this procedure. Do you have any pointers at all of anywhere else I might turn to. I am a pilot with one of the major airlines and am getting nervous about my future career. I have also been working with my union doctors, but just am looking for any light you could shed on the subject.

Thanks

Default Re: b12 deficiency question

It usually takes 6 months of therapy to get better.
