Default Need a new Medical after refractive surgery?

Hi.

I just had Wavefront PRK surgery about 1 1/2 months ago. I just had my doctor do a full exam and fill out the FAA Form 8500-7.

Do I need to get an updated medical? Or can I just wait untill I go for my 1st class in about a year or so? Do I need to send in the FAA form 8500-7 to the FAA directly?

Thanks for the help!

Chris

You can either wait until the next exam or send it in now. They just want to document it. This is the way they gather information to expand the approval of these kinds of procedures.

Sweet thanks. I guess I will hold onto it for a while.
