I know AOPA had a list of approved meds, but since I'm no longer a member I can't view that page. Can someone check and let me know if Amitriptyline is approved or not? Thanks

Thanks for the quick response. How about Buspar ? Is it approved or no? Thanks.. Nevermind found the answer on the forums: Antidepressants and psychoactive medications: The FAA will not approve any of the medications in this category--including serotonin uptake inhibitors (Celexa, Effexor,Prozac, Paxil, and Zoloft) as well as other psychoactive medications (Lithium, Buspar, Elavil, Sinequan, Amitripityline, etc.). Pilots who undergo treatment with these medications can be cleared to return to flight duty after they have stopped taking the medication and the treatment issues have been resolved. See Depression in the VFS Medical Information Center. These medications are sometimes used for non-psychiatric conditions, but are still not approved for use in flight in this context. Nope. None of the anti-depressants are approved. This next year they are looking at some very strictly controlled special issuances for anti-depressants on a trial basis. Have not started the process yet though.
