Default Fibromyalgia

Is Fibromyalgia a disqualifying condition for a Class 1 Medical? If not, would it require a waiver?

I apologize if this has been asked before.

Thanks!

Default Re: Fibromyalgia

Here is the problem; main stream medicine considers fibromyalgia a somatoform disorder which is a psychiatric condition. It is felt be many to be a physical manifestation of depression. It will depend on whether or not you have taken medications for the fibromyalgia, what they were, when it was treated, for how long it was treated, when treatment ceased and if you are having any symptoms currently.

I know this is probably not what you wanted to hear. The issues are the same for ALL classes of medical certificate as well.
