Hi, I have had high blood pressure for a long time and have been taking medication to control it. I had to submit paper work the first time to get my 3rd class medical when I received my private ticket. Over all no big deal. Well now my cholesterol has creeped up due to poor diet on my part and I am wondering what this will do in regards to obtaining my 1st class medical? My doctor has put me on meds to control the cholesterol however I have not had my follow up appointment with him as its only been a couple weeks. I recently had an EKG and all was good there. Should I be able to abtain a 1st class medical? thank you Doc, Erick

The FAA does not ask about cholesterol and the cholesterol lowering medications are all approved. ![]()

Most of them do not even have a medical department. The one major exception is American.
