Default Worried about Medical?

I have decided to start flight training this spring, got it narrowed down to two academies already as well. I am however a little worried about my first class medical cert, mostly because I do not know enough about it I think. I am 26, 6'-3", and with a wife and kids that last few years have seriously let my weight get out of hand and jump up to 310 lbs! I have started up again at the gym (just doing some light lifting and cardio for now) and am fairly confident that I have what it takes to drop 20 or 30 pounds in the next couple of months (I played hockey for 17 years). But I know I will have to go in for my certification before that if I want to start school this spring. Should I be worried??? My vision is excellent and I do not have a history of any medical conditions, but my weight really has me concerned. Thanks for your help.

Weight is not a disqualifying factor, especially if your blood pressure is OK.

Thanks, for putting my mind at ease. Now if my kids don't make my blood pressure spike I should be fine

Unfortunately, that is the job of kids. Draw the line in the sand and life will be much easier
