| Greetings: A few of my fellow CFI's and I are going snowboarding next weekend. We were talking about the possibility of injuries and were wondering if a sprain or a fracture were to happen, do we have to report it and if so, what action does the FAA take on ones medical certificate, if any? |

| This goes back to the issue of the ability to safely operate the A/C. If you cannot do so, you are required to self-ground. Once healed to the point where the injury does not interfere with safe operations, you can fly again. If you are seen by a doc or in an ER, you must report it on the next medical exam. Just drink AFTER the snow boarding, not DURING and you will reduce the chance on injuries greatly. ![]() |
