On my original medical / student certificate I completed the 8500-8 as correctly as possible listing everything I was sure I had with any form of diagnosis I knew about in the past or current. Medical issued. Renewed since and nothing changed. After viewing all of my medical history files last week I now know that the form is not complete and additional disclosure needs to be completed. What route is the best in this case? I have been told I could go 1 of 3 routes with this: 1) Obtain an aviation attorney and attempt to clear everything up with the FAA since it will be nearly impossible for me to prove that I was honest while signing the 8500 years ago. Medical may remain intact or be pulled. 2) Voluntarily send my medical to the FAA to show that I now have knowledge of conditions not disclosed and it is not valid. Was told this may prevent any action current or future if any problems would arise. 3) Go in for a renewal and list everything I now have knowledge of providing all documentation and hope for the best (a SI). Was told that this may clear everything up but I am personally concerned with dates not matching in past medicals. Before I take any action wanted to get others opinions and visit an AME on a consulting basis with all current medical records. Thoughts? |

It depends on what the undeclared medical issue was. You can PM me if you want to do so.
