Default Eye questions

I just got an eye exam and I have 30/20 vision. However I also have a little bit of astigmatism in my left eye. So what does this mean for my flying?

Get glasses or contacts. You can fly with 20/20 corrected.

well 30/20 is BETTER then 20/20

my real question was about the minor astigmatism

does that need to be corrected?

My vision is 30/20 but I have a very little bit of astigmatism in my left eye. So what does this mean for my flying?

Your vision is 20/30 there is not a 30/20 vision that is reported in the US. You can get a Class 3 medical with 20/30 but you need to get it corrected to 20/20 for a Class 1 or 2. It is probably the astigmatism that is making it 20/30, glasses will fix this.

You can get a third class medical, but if you want a first or second class medical, you can either squint and struggle through the eye test, or get corrective lenses. Since your life (and possibly mine) very much depends on see and avoid, I'd suggest the latter.
