Default Medical questions/current state

(Hope this is the right section)

I need to get Class 1 Medical check up done and I have no Idea what is going to be in it, Though I have some questions about it. my eyesight is not perfect. I can see anything near me perfectly..like something within 3-7(not really sure, might be more) feet in front of me, but if they are far away it looks fuzzy. is there a problem with my eyes?am I near sighted and need to get glasses or something?

also, when I was young like 7 or 8 ..I got Jaundice(sp?)? I really dont know the exact details, but it turned my eyes semi-yellow.The funny part about it was I got it due to a flight trip, lol. I had a toy..that I had dropped in the toilet of the airplane..and picked it back up with my bare hands and didnt bother to clean it and ate while having the toy by me. Iam completley cured now, it was nothing too serious, but will this affect my chances of passing the medical?

the third is Iam 5 foot 8 in tall and weigh 111-112 pounds. Iam currently 16 years old and senior in high school. Needless to say, iam quite small compared to some seniors in my HS. Is this normal? is something wrong with me?
it doesnt matter how much I eat I never seem to put on weight. my friends say its cause I have a fast metabolism. I really dont work out all that much since there is no Gym near where I live, but I love bike riding and I ride occasionally.the one gym in school is mainly for athletics. I tried to look at ways to gain weight so I dont feel too uncomfortable about my body, but everything just says like..lift weight and eat food containing this or that. the thing is.. I dont have access to weights.
I dont want to take the supplements or anything like that because I see them as unhealthy (iam trying to get healthy not the other way lol). if you have any tips, please do share. I dont want to hurt my chances in any way of getting the medical passed since that is the first step in getting my license. Also, about my weight is it unhealthy? or alright?

sorry for the boring, long post..tried to shorten it

my hearing is good its just these iam worried about. I have no other problems as far as I know..and I dont think I have any allergies to any medication..also I dont like baked potatoes..they give me a headache..if that will help any.

Thanks a bunch for your help in advance

The only issue may be your vision. You need to have vision correctable to 20/20 for distant vision and 20/40 for near vision. If you cannot see at a distance, get the glasses before you go for the medical.

The history of jaundice should be reported but just put the explanation in Block 19 on the Form 8500-8.

Regarding the weight, don't worry about it.

Good luck on the medical.

You can search this forum for topics that have ** - Medical History to see what the FAA is looking for on the form.

Is it 20/40 uncorrected or corrected. I would assume corrected.

Why do you need a First Class medical at this point? I can undertsand you wanting to make sure you would qualify for one, but you can get away with a third class at this point (you cannot be a commercial pilot yet alone an ATP at 16).

I would get a third class and ask the doc if you would have been able to pass a first class and if not, what can or cannot be corrected.
