I did a search in this forum and read what I found. But I did not see my question. So here goes. I did have a stone about a year ago. And my doctor has records of it. Now I want to go for a 1st class med so that I can start training. What if anything do I need from my doctor to take with me? Do I need to even say anything ? ( I already know the answer to that ) I have not had a stone in a very long time now and don't want to get one. I drink lots of cranberry juice and water and have not had any problems. Also while I am asking questions...here is another one. A little over a year ago I had a stress test done. It came out good with no problems, do I need to take anything about this with me to the medical when I get it? Thanks for any help JC |

Regarding the kidney stone, you will need a copy of any lab work done to evaluate the cause of the stone (serum calcium and uric acid) if performed, a report of an X-ray, CT scan or ultrasound stating there are no residual stones and the notes from the doctor from the stone episode. Just take them to the AME and if there are no stones present the AME can issue the certificate and send the data to the FAA for their records. There is no reason to mention the stress test since it was done routinely and not for chest pain. |

You can try to submit the application without the X-rays. The FAA may send you a letter asking an X-ray, get one then. If they don't ask, ou saved some $$.
