Doc Holiday, I got a *friend* that initially got a nasty skin infection while riding submarines in the Navy about 10 years ago. Every few months, when he gets a cut or two on his legs, the same thing happens....they get infected and never seem to heal. That is, until he decides to go to the doctor and get a fresh bottle of some antibacterial medication to take for a few weeks, and then the cuts wounds heal and he moves on with life. It was described as a form of MRSA infection that he got, just like a lot of pro athletes are getting now-in-day from close/confined locker room environments. I think he is taking Clindamycin 150mg now, to knock out the latest round of infected (mosquito bites) places on his legs. He is a pilot, and he wants to know how/if to report this (or if required) for his medical status. He has a First Class medical. How would he report this, and will this in any way ground him in flying? Thanks in advance!

It is really not reportable unless you are on the medication when you get the physical. |
