I was wondering if you could give a little insight as to how this may affect my medical. Over the course of the past several months, I have had episodes where I get this flashing black looking coiled up snake like object that takes up the center part of my field of vision in my left eye. It starts off small and kinda grows from there. The whole thing lasts for about half hour or forty five minutes and then goes away. When it is over, I feel a little tired but that is it. My regular doc says that he thinks it is a 'migraine with aura'. Now, I never have a headache with this and they only come once every two weeks, give or take. My doc says that he thinks I should ground myself until this is resoved and he gave me some high blood pressure medicine to take in the meantime. (I have very low blood pressure to begin with, so I don't know how this will help). What do you think the FAA will do about this? Thanks. |

If this is migraine, your doc is right - ground yourself. http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/...l/prohibition/ For persons with migraine headaches, the FAA makes the decision on the medical certificate. http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/...item46/amd/ha/ |
