Hello, I have a quick question. My student failed his medical due to his English language skills. He went to the FSDO, and they gave him a later saying that he reads, writes, and speaks English well. The AME who failed him said he sent all the paperwork to OKC. My student is getting close to solo, and I would like to expedite him getting his medical. I am going to call OKC today, just wondering if you have done this before, and what the process is like. |

Oh Boy!!! This will take sometime. I think he denied the student pilot certificate not the medical! but it doesn't matter at this point. Good luck |

It sounds like he DEFERRED him. AME's almost never deny anyone, they let OKC make the decision. The fact that the FSDO approved his English skills is positive. I have never run into this problem in 30+ years of doing flight physicals. |

Thanks guys. I just got off the horn with OKC, and they approved his medical, but sent it to his home address IN INDIA! They are faxing me over a duplicate that is supposedly good for 60 days. Hopefully, his medical can find its way to India, and back to here before the 60 days is up.
