Default Water? In the ear.

Hi,

I recently, about 3 weeks ago, started having this issue with one of my ears. I noticed it immediately upon returning to a quiet place, that there was something weird going on inside.

I will probably have to see an ear professional to get a good look as to whats up, but it does feel like I have water stuck in my ear. (I have not swam recently). All day I can heard it moving around and when I move my jaw it sometimes acts up.

No hearing is impaired whatsoever, and its not painful… just an odd feeling.

What will this do to my first class medical to get it checked out? I’ve waited hoping that it will go away, but almost a month now and still doing its thing.

Thanks.

My guess is that it's just normal fluid in your ears or you could have wax buildup. I think that if you are flying a lot, the pressure changes and constant clearing of the sinuses could cause fluid to flow a little bit more than normal.

I would try letting some water in your ears when you shower for a few weeks to loosen that stuff up. I guess you are not supposed to use cue tips inside your ears, though, all they do is push wax in further (my mom is a nurse and told me this stuff).

It sounds like you have either cerumen (wax) in the ear canal or the eustachian tube is blocked. If it is the cerumen, buy some Debrox and put it in the ear every day to remove the cerumen. If it is the eustachian tube, you should see your doc and get it treated. If it does not clear up, it will be an issue when you are flying.
