ANR Headset studies

I am finally getting ready to replace my old headset and it seems everyone is very excited about their ANR headsets. I was just wondering if there have been any studies on the long term effects of the ANR noise cancelling technology on the ears?

I still think the ANR units have great potential benefit. Look for the mainstream units rather than off-brand models.
