I am getting ready to begin flight training so I need to get a medical and I was wondering if you know of any good AME's in Houston, I have found a list with numerous doctors but I want to make sure I make a good choice. Thanks.

It's just your first medical...you should be safe choosing anyone for a 3rd class medical IMO...

Ask around at teh FBO. You want someone who performs more than 25 a year, not someone who doe only 10 a year. This is especially true if you will be answering any question YES. If the answers are all NO, it probably doesn't make any difference. You can go to http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/...s/app_history/ to see what questions are on the 8500-8. If you are going to answer any of them with a YES, check out the suggestions and comments at http://forums.jetcareers.com/ask-a-flight-surgeon/ on the JC web site. You can also get info on the AOPA site. |
