Default Height And Weight

Just for the record i'm 18 years old and i'm very small for my age! I'm only 5"4 tall and only weight 115 pounds, i'm so afraid that i wont grow anymore and that no one will want to hire me because i look like a 16 year old kid.

Anyone with the same problem?

You joking? I think you should have more worries about the ladies thinking you're 14 instead of an airline.

Take a look at FlyChicaga's old pics.....He doesnt look his age (no offense Matt )

And I'm only 5'7" so no worries....

NW004,

Sorry about coming off a little smart-alecky (is that a word, if not I call dibs on inventing it). You'll be fine, as long as you can reach and safely manipulate the controls. I've seen much shorter people flying, so I don't see where you'd have problems. I wish I was smaller when it comes to airplanes. It sucks when you're in a Baron and your head is already on the ceiling (there's no up/down controls for the seats), then get into moderate turbulence, and it sucks.

As far as looking younger, well, grow some thick skin about it. People will always judge you on how you look age-wise, be it good or bad. (un)fortunately, I will never have that problem. I have problems with people not knowing if I am 30 or 45. The shaved head doesn't help, but it was worse before I started shaving with pattern male baldness. I was 25 when I started shaving, and people always thought I was almost 40. For the record, I am 33.

Now, people at Airnet who don't know me think I should be a Lear capt since I am older...one of these days...

Good luck and don't let your looks hold you back. Do what you know what to do, or will know in the future.

NW004, you will be fine. Airlines are going to try to pick on you for a lot more things other than that.
