It was very straightforward indeed. Taken to a room and asked to wear the gown; for no apparent reason it seems other than it is de-humanising.

Filled in a questionnaire
Urine sample
Listened to my breathing sitting up and lying down.
Felt around my torso, presumably checking everything was intact (or he just found me attractive and wanted to touch me up......shudder)
Eye tests
Looked into my ears
Dropped shorts and the cough routine
Asked me what my goals are and wished me luck.

How was the eye test?, did he check each eye separetely, or just made you look at the figures in the wall with both eyes opened?

Next time I am going to search out a hot female AME, even if it means traveling out of state....

The eye tests were left eye first, then right eye, then both eyes. There was no wall chart, it was a series of plates under a piece of equipment resembling a microscope. There were tests with letters, then numbers, then symbols. Interestingly also a magnetic compass reading, and other tests involving taking a reading from aeronautical instruments, but the more you stared at them, the less sure you were of your first answer, so the trick is to say what you see immediately.

I also found it's best not to inadvertently press down on your eye with your hand when you are covering it as your being tested on the other, since it renders it weak and inoperable for its test.

I checked out with 20/20 but that involved a great deal of concentration.

Dude, they made me get into the gown as well, what the hell is that? I had a couple moments of pure panic thinking they may have changed the physical format or something. Funniest part was when they tested my hearing by standing across the room and whispering.

$50 down in Van Nuys. Dr. Edward Shore. He's not the hottest doc ever, but it's better than $100+ for a first class.

I payed 70 for a first class in Carlsbad Ca. I walked in and he said "you are a Marine huh, I guess this should be easy then"

I didnt have to take my shift off or get into the paper prom dress or anything. He asked me if I had any aches or bruises and then i put my forehead on that microscope thing that pushed down a button and did the eye test. After that in the same machine there was a rng of 180 degree light show or something weird that he said tested peripheral vision. After that he said I was all set.

I guess it is because of the military they put you through every test short of an alien abduction and you get a urinalysis about once a month, he figured i would be ok.
