not everybody will get selected to take the test. under the home page you should see something along the lines of

"**** NOTICE Regarding AT-SAT Score ****

AT-SAT test list generated:

03/19/2009 01:20:56 PM (Central Time): You have been authorized to take the AT-SAT test for announcement AAC-AMH-09-PUBNAT7-11589. You will be contacted within a few weeks to schedule the test. If you have questions about the process, please call Aviation Careers Division at 405-954-4657."

I applied for PubNat7, and I previously took the AT-SAT for PubNat1 and scored a 98.7. I check ASAP for PubNat7 it says " At this time, you have not been selected to take the AT-SAT test. Please continue to check this area for AT-SAT status updates."

I know I don't have to worry about taking it again, but does that message mean I'm not being considered, or just that I wasn't selected because I've already taken the test? Now I'm concerned...

FWIW, I was hired in May before the PubNats. Due to life intervening (not able to sell house back in MI) it was a really messy situation, ultimately I had to resign in December. I have reapplied on Pubnat 7. My ATSAT score is still valid, and it says that I was selected to take it.

I don't know if that means you aren't being considered, but my first impression is that if you were, it would authorize you for the test again. I am calling HR tomorrow to make clear to them that I will be using my old test score (they are good for 3 years) and to see what timeline we are looking at. I will post when I know more.

If anyone has questions about the entire process, send me a PM. I have been through basics and the academy, the PV, and worked position in Sioux City, IA for 3 months before resigning.

I took the test for PUBNAT5 back in December. I expected ASAP to say that I wasn't selected to take the test for PUBNAT7, but it doesn't say anything at all. It's been a few days since everyone else started seeing messages, but I'm still blank. Ideas?

Mine doesn't say anything new either. I was authorized to take it for PUBNAT 6 but I couldn't make it up to Seattle because of a snow storm. I applied for 7 but it still just says that I'm authorized for 6. I don't know what's going on.

Knowing the FAA, I'm sure if you have the 3 years 'general work experience' you'll probably be authorized. I mean, has anyone actually heard of the FAA vetting these PUBNATS - that is, comparing resumes and saying yes to some and no to others for the atsat? I've taken the ATSAT twice now, once in OKC and once after CTI school and I too was authorized for PUB7. I think the real vetting happens once you get your score, then the resume might come into play. For those of you who are getting your first experiences with the FAA, fasten you seat belt. It's once screwed up, unorganized agency. But, cheers to those who got the nod.

Wait til you take the test and check ASAP every few hours to see if your score is posted. Then when you login to check you notice an extra block of text has been added and you start skimming through it and read "An AT-SAT score of 70 or above is necessary for passing." and have your heart sink because you saw "70" and then you read the next sentence "Your score was 100." to have your heart jump.. can't be healthy lol..

I'm gonna highly disagree with this statement! It is somewhat of an aptitude test, but proper planning prevents piss poor performance. Studying is NOT going to hurt you...and it is best you get real familiar with the AT-SAT. It's not a scantron and multiple choice test. Get the green book, get familiar with it, and it'll prevent any surprises. Trust me, when you get in that room, you'll be able to tell who "studied" and who didn't...by the amount of planes you hear crashing!

It's all good man. I Applied PUBNAT 7 as well and have no update on the AT-SAT list on ASAP. Most likely, it is due to the fact that we already took the AT-SAT in December, so we don't qualify to re-take it right now. They will leave us alone until Geo-Prefs come out.

I don't qualify to take the test either because I took it in June 2008, but I have something there that actually says I'm NOT authorized to take the test for that reason.

A friend of mine told me to check the ASAP site. I haven't checked it in over a month. Glad to find out that I'm eligible to take the test. The same friend also told me about this site. This site is great!
