Default Question about ATP Long Beach

I'm seriusly considering to start my pilot trainning there.

anyone has any info\recommendations about their school there? or maybe about other schools around L.A?
i'm looking for a school that has a program for int'l students.

thanks ahead,
Gon.

I went to Long Beach a few years ago for the 5 day MEI/CFII. The only had 1-2 planes and 2 instructors. We had a problem with the airplane while I was there, and both instructors had to take the afternoon to fly it to Vegas and trade it out for another one. If you have a good reason to go to Long Beach then it will be okay, but if I had it to do over again, I'd go to somewhere that ad a bigger office -- like Vegas. As a side note, Vegas usually has better weather. My check ride had to be rescheduled due to bad weather, a common problem with coastal California.

I would also consider ATP Riverside. The weather isn't nearly as coastal in nature, and there are many more planes and instructors.

30 minute drive? Its on the other side of the hill.

Riverside has MX on location. Its a bigger location, and its out of the way of the way of HQ.

Oh, and pretty much any person that comes out of KRAL ends up being the baddest most awesome mother effing pilots alive. Ask me how I know... Haha

No All CFIs were summarily fired right before Christmas. Then 2 JAX CFIs were inserted.

When did you go??

I finished there in September of 2008. Gabe was my CFI for the most part, great guy. Sad to hear they axed everyone.

I spent two months this summer instructing at ATP Riverside before moving to ATP San Diego. Riv's a great location. Never an airplane shortage, nice apartments, busy airspace.

My only complaint was the lack of pilot supply store nearby. Usually had to drive to Corona for anything.
