Default A Question For You \"Loaners\"

To anyone who has taken a loan for the ACPP at ATP:

The program currently costs 35K, plus examiner fees of $2700. so thats 38K for the program.

My question is: Can you take a loan for more than the cost of the program to cover food, cell phone bill, other bills, etc..?

Also, say I take a loan for 45K, if I still have a few thousand left when I finish can I take that home with me to live on while looking for a job?

thanks for your help.

YES, you can take out more than the total cost. i believe ATP will let you take out around 45K. you can do whatever you wish with the rest.

Yeh, you can take up to $45K.. That's what I did.. Once you get the loan, it's your loan, you can basically do what you want to do with it..

I am using some of it to live on, I am putting back $2K to make payments for as long as I can, after the program is over, while I'm looking for a job or working for ATP..

I'm so so frustrated. I applied for Key Bank and my loan was denied, so there is no way I can attend ATP. Well maybe dreams aren't made for everyone. Good luck to all of you.

Wow... sucks. But dont let that stop you! If you want to be a pilot, then there is no reason you can't... just stick with it. There are so many ways that you can get there without acquiring the mega-loan. It just takes some some perserverence and a little sacrifice--you can still reach the sky.

Good luck,
Jeremy

Icarus,

I don't mean to pry into your personal business but may I ask what your situation is? I am concerned about the loan and what their requirements are. Everyone I have talked to say that requirements are quite relaxed but I'm just wondering how relaxed.

Also, I agree with Merlin. Don't let this stop your dream. If you want to fly, you'll get there with some time and effort. Don't give up!

Rob.

Do you have someone that can co-sign for you? That generally helps the loan process a lot.
