Default Starting on the 23rd

I'm starting June 23rd at JAX location. What do I need to study before the first day? Is it for the instrument written and fill out the Seminole supplement?

I started the career program in 10/07 so it may have changed since then but I would be able to answer from memory all the question in the back of the Seminole supplement. Call the 800 number and talk to someone for clarification just to be sure.

If you're starting the 90 day program:

1. Have all your writtens done.
2. Have the seminole supplement memorized, including the emergency procedures and the set up for each maneuver.

For serious...if you're starting on 6/23 you have a checkride on 6/30, maybe earlier. Be ready before you go.

Haha no joke. Youll be a PPL/ME by the end of the month. With only 12 days left, I wouldnt worry about the writtens. Just know the Seminole supplement inside and out.

Don't walk into the maintenance hangar or hang outside near it by the doors. Avoid anyone wearing a white shirt, be friendly, do what your told, don't look obvious that you are trying to avoid anyone wearing a white shirt, if you should make eye contact with Rich, tell him he is the best damn pilot in the world. Do not upset your instructors, work hard, study your books, know the material, use the sims as much as they let you. Don't show up drunk or tired looking, don't cancel, keep well groomed, get plenty of rest, don't look disheveled in the morning.
Should you fail to avoid some one wearing a white shirt, make sure to shake their hand, make eye contact, say hello, introduce yourself, and be a good kid. But don't over do it.

Are you serious, or am I missing the sarcasm tag?

I would say about 90% of this advice is for someone going to Jacksonville. The other 10% (use the sim as much as possible, etc..) is great advice.

I knew someone who did exactly the opposite in JAX and is now a captain at a real good regional…

You’re paying for it. Let them kiss your oss…
