Hi everybody. I am pretty sure that I want to go to ATP. I am leaning towards the Phoenix location because the weather, CRJ course is right there, and I think I would like the area. Has anybody been to the PHX location?? What were your experiences there? I like ATP because it seems like a good place to be an instructor. I think that they would get a ton of multi-hours, but how can they (instructors) log those hours when students do a lot of sim time and the cross country portion is done w/out an instructor? Do you still have to go down to Jacksonville for the 12 day instructor proficiency program even if you did the program through ATP? How long after you are done with the program does it take to be hired on as an instructor at ATP? Have you gotten your 1st/2nd choice in a reasonable time?..because waiting around after the program is just wasting more money. Can you stay on as an instructor as long as you please? I am debating on the 90 day program or the self paced program. I would like to do the self paced because I would have time to do school, but I would have to get an apartment or something since housing is not included. Also, I really would like to fly coast to coast and was wondering if I could still do it on the self paced program? It seems to me that I would have to wait for another self paced program student to be on his cross country phase so that I could even do cross country flights (since you need 2 students) Will I have time to do online school when I am an instructor at ATP, or is the life of an ATP instructor too busy and hectic to have time (kind of like the 90 day program)??? (I would like to finish my bachelor's online at ERAU while I instruct, so I may be over the minimums by the time I am done with my degree..or will the regionals still hire me if I don't have my bachelor's but they know I am currently working on finishing my degree)??? |
