I went to the interview for the ACPP in Addison this morning. The short written test wasn't bad. I think I missed three questions on things like ATC light signals which I didn't remember all that well, but for the most part, it was just basic private pilot stuff. Reading the Piper Seminole supplement that was provided was neccessary for many questions. He also wanted me to explain a lot of the aerodynamic effects of an engine out. There were also several questions he had about my most recently flown airplane. I have zero time in a Cessna 172. The majority of my time is in a Piper Tri-Pacer (PA-22). The instructor didn't really know anything about that airplane, so he couldn't tell if I answered his airplane specific questions right, but I was confident with my answers. The simulator was lots of fun. The majority of it was being asked to fly specific headings, altitudes, airspeeds in climbs, decents, and turns. It took a little while to figure out how to get the simulator stabilized. The VSI and altimiter were all over the place on me, but I greased the landing and even added a slip in there which was kind of fun. I stayed almost an additional 2 hours talking to the instructor and asking a million questions. I plan on sending in my deposit soon with a start date sometime in November. I can't wait! I must have seen half-a-dozen young pilots coming in and out of that FBO flying Citations, King-Airs, and such.. I'm just so excited. |

It was a pleasure meeting you Ben, and like I said, I'll answer another million questions no problem! For the record - NO Interviewee/Student has greased that beast of a sim. |

I figured if I posted something on here that it wouldn't take long for you to reply. I've got the deposit money, but I'm going to keep it until after I get my first-class medical. My appointment is scheduled for Sunday, October 21. The doctor is at this airport: http://www.airnav.com/airport/61TE 20ft. wide sloped runway The doctor must figure if you can land there, you pass! |

On the 10-month ACPP program, how many full days per month do you have to dedicate to flying? Can you fly nights and weekends or what? How does it work?

Ive heard between 10-14 days a month, you might want to give atp a call though for an exact answer.

| I'm going to try and get away with just nights and weekends as much as I can. If/when I need more, I can work it out with my boss to only work four 10-hour days a week instead of five 8-hour days. I'm saving my vacation for the two consecutive weeks that are needed for the CFI school, and I should have enough accumulated by March or April.
