Default CFI program is booked solid

Can any current ATP people confirm this?

Are all classes booked solid for the rest of the year.

I called about three weeks ago and at that time they were booked for CFI school through late November.

They where dieing to kick me out of the 90 day program today because we forgot to fax in my FIA written certificate. Basically if you dont have your writtens done 25 days after your instrument ride you cant go to CFI school, so you get $2k back.

Which would make more sense money wise for them because that opens up a spot for someone spending ALOT more for just CFI school.

And Vegas CFI school normally does it every other week, but there have been a few back to back weeks of new classes.

negative.... ask about the daytona location! From my understanding and unless something chages we are back up and running as of Saturday.... With that the classes are empty due to the cancelation before due to a lack of a 2 year cfi..... but looking we have openings!

It now says on the ATP website that the CFI program has been discontinued and they will only give training for initial CFI certificates through the 90 day ACPP.

So, what's the deal? Were they not making money off of it, or is it a staffing issue? With the program supposedly being booked solid into the winter, it seems weird that they would stop taking new customers who are willing to pay for the service.

Methinks based only upon pure internet observation that perhaps their system is maybe working a little too well for their own good if they can't get enough CFI's there with some longevity to keep the shop open.

Anyone have suggestions on a good school to get the initial CFI now? American Flyers?

It might have been at APC, but there was recently a positive thread about AF at SMO.

Honeslty from talking to the main guy who does a lot of the scheduling its simply they have gotten a thought that either you train here or you dont..... We will still do a CFII/MEI but no way of getting all three..... We have enough of a hard time getting our ACP students into a class let alone outside students. Right now Jax has 13 in the next class and that's just out of control. In addition now Dallas will have their own CFI school and instructor there.... We really are just having a hard time with "our" students they dont want outside students in the way....

Is ATP hiring a good deal of outside CFI/MEI's?

If you have your ratings it should be pretty easy to get an interview.
