| Just asking on how Atp Riverside 90day ACP program compared to other locations.. I live 2 hours north of Riverside so that would be nice to goto. Hows the provided living? whats the prices of Apartments near the airport? if one decides to move up with the wife and the baby for a period? Are they breaks in between trainging due to scheduleing conflicts? hows the facility and instructors down there? syllabus provided ahead of time? I might make a visit down there this month to check things out. ![]() |

| Senior Member | Riverside is by far the best location to train at, IMO. I liked it because I got a lot of actual inst because of the marine layer in the morning and in the evening. Nothing builds your confidence better than doing a hold off of OXR ,over the ocean, in the clouds, for 15 minutes!!! Fun stuff. The instructors are awsome as well. They are extremely helpfull, and you can tell that they are not there just to build hours. They truley want you to suceed. The apartments are pretty well kept. Although they're a 20 minute drive to the airport, they are nice. Its up to you and your roomates to keep it clean. Thats no biggie. As far as "breaks" go, I would plan on having very little free time during the Multi add on, and instrument training periods. There is lots of stuff to study and practice. You might be able to work out with your instructor, and dispatch in jacksonville, some time off. But you have to understand that upper management wants to get people in and out within the 90 days. Since you have a wife and a young one, there shouldn't be much of an issue, as long as you are progressing nicely. ATP has a great program. I am at CFI school currently. If you do choose to go to ATP, start studying NOW!!! Try your best to get all the writtens done. That means more free time for you, and possibly some time off to see the Family. CFI school is only about a week and a half long so get familliar with FOI quick. That's currently my weakness. My checkridr is the day after tomarrow for the MEI initial. Stressfull!!!!!! All in all, RAL is a great location. I've had a blast so far. If you want some more details, feel free to PM me

| Senior Member | Sham, I put my deposit down a few weeks ago, and start the 90-day in Riverside on the 20th. ![]() After weighing the location options, I think Riverside was the best fit for me. The people that I've spoken with agree and say Riverside has solid instructors and flying in that area is a great experience. Just my two cents. Good luck! Nick

| Junior Member | I live in LA and I was considering moving to either the Daytona or JAcksonville location because rent out in cali is EXPENSIVE. And in Daytona I can get a 2b/1b gated community apt for hundreds less. Now I am a little confused after reading such good things about Riverside. Plus...how long will u have to wait to be a CFI at Riverside after training? Or will u most likely get a spot quick? I was going to Florida becuz i heard Jacksonville is where a lot of people go to be CFI's.

| I'm just finishing up ACPP at RAL and I thought this location was one of the best I visited during my cross countries. The geographical location is as far away as possible from the headquarters, if this makes any difference. There are no chief instructors, which I'm not sure if there are some in other locations other than Jacksonville. And it seemed to be the most laid back location compared to the others. We've bumped into a few instructors from other locations and they seem very uptight and belittle you when they talk to you, this was not true for any of the instructors at RAL. I'm not saying that such an instructor might come along and work at RAL though. I also thought that the experience I gained being in such a busy area like LA was valuable. Overall, I would very much recommend this location, but then again I'm a little biased seeing that I went to this location and not the others. Jtsastre |

Riverside is great if you dont feel like people breathing down your neck the whole time for silly things. I love riverside, and after going from all the way up to Salem, Oregon and as far down as Stuart, Florida on my cross countries, Im glad I picked it. I know we are trying to maintain a professional atmosphere, but when you have 95+ degree weather, who really wants to be wearing khaki pants and a polo? (cue de727ups, "well what happens when your in a shirt and tie on the taxiway and your sitting in an aircraft with no APU and there are 20 other aircraft in line in front of you because of flow issues") At least out here they are a little more chill on the rules like that. In Jax, you had better be dressed up or someone will say something. I def. got some stares at certain locations after pulling up in my shorts and t-shirt. I think the wait time for CFIs at any location is pretty short. Also now that they have the program setup to where you can apply for a location and then wait at home for the call, you dont have to sit in Jax for weeks in the pit. -Rob | |

| Senior Member | Also, its kind of funny how they wont let the east ATP guys out west because of the scary mountains. So at least in the west we get "mountain training" haha. MEA higher than 5000? OMG!! CALL 911!! -Rob |

| With the new price increase, I'd go somewhere else. 55K for 140 hours of multi is insane. I thought 45 was too much when I went through the program. On top of all during my search for a job, after talking to airline recruiters, my experience at ATP meant absolutely nothing and learned quickly that ATP is not highly regarded in the industry, except maybe Expressjet . If you're going to drop 55K I'd go to a pt141 school. It's going to be a better investment for when you start pt121 airline training. Still I had an awsome awsome time at the Riverside location, good times. Probably the best location on the West side. Too bad most of the instructors that I knew will be gone soon. |

![]() To be honest, I hope nobody signs up for this program, just so that ATP might lower the price again. Yes, this program is an awsome experience, but I just don't think its worth that much.
