For those who have taken the multi course, is it realistic to complete it in the advertised 4 days, or should I plan on an extra day or two or three? Just wanted to know for travel planning purposes. I would be probably be at the Long Beach location. Thanks for any responses.

It is possible as long as the weather is good, I would put an extra day or two just in case...

I don't know the specifics of ATP's program but most programs are only 6 to 10 flight hours so doing it over 2 or 3 days with a check on the 4th day is definatley a reality.....as long as the weather is decent and the plane doesn't break. Jason

I did mine in 2 or 3 days. That was out of CRG. Great weather and flew in the AM and then again in the PM. Finished at 9.5 hours and then the checkride with Ernie. Great times, would recommend it to anyone.

With that said, the only thing that would possibly have an impact would be weather, but it would have to be bad. If the wx is such that you can just fly later in the day, or get on top and do what you need it wont be a factor generally. 3 days (4th is the checkride) is 72 hours in to accomplish the flying, its not hard to get it done. ATP instrutors dont have a "quitting" time like 9-to-5'ers. They go home when the job is done. | |
