I don't know that much about Houston... but it's going to be the same program as what is offered at all the other locations I believe. In any case... your best bet is to contact them at the 800 number to get what details you need... because, since it's a new location... most folks on here won't have the specific info you may be looking for. Yup, I just rang them and they are doing it out of the same spot as the self-paced. Just interesting, they didnt say much... I grew up in Houston and will be moving back there to finish my training, just another option to consider now... even though I have pretty much decided on the "FBO route". |

What location are they using down there... I heard they moved to Hooks... Is that the one with the water runway? Every time I fly in on the northern arrival into IAH we go over that... and it makes me really want my float rating...

Yup, hooks. The water runway is neat... I wonder if ATP will go aquatic? (riiiight) I got my PPL years ago out of Weiser, the Cheif instructor got his float rating out there so he didnt have to get a BFR, he liked it. He flew for AE but now I think he's at XJet doing the sims off of JFK at IAH? Not sure. |

CXO is closed - DWH is the new location. It's now fast paced - and they may be adding a private pilot program there as well.

Thanks. I had been looking at the GKY location for ages... then the price is going up and they opened a 90-day in Houston, worked out pretty good so I got on the bandwagon. I grew up in Houston, lived out in Katy for a while too... |

Changing locations is not unheard of. It's worth a call to see. | |

I flew down to Hooks today on a Cross country. As of now they only have one aircraft and its 79 modle. I'm sure they will get more. They are located at Tomball aviation and the FBO there looks pretty neat. There is a Ton of helecopter training going on there and it seemed pretty busy all in all. They had us landing 35R and there was a Cessna parralleling us on 35L as we were coming in. Aslo there is a water runway there, pretty cool to look at! |

I know that airport very well as I recieved my PPL there. At first it was a little tricky to learn the airport but got used to it. How many sims did they have?
