Undecided between Ariben or ATP at Daytona,
lets say i am going to daytona to start the private pilot program plus ACPP(Fast Track). Do I need a car from the housing to the school or is the housing from walking distance ??
or any ATP around florida with the private pilot program and housing from walking distance??
Any info. would be appreciate.

The Daytona ATP program is pretty sketchy right now since its so new down here.. see if you can get in at JAX. Things are more organized up there than they are in Daytona.

Well, compared to my training at ERAU.. the scheduling of flights, the level of training recieved and personal connection with the staff.. Embry Riddle exceeds Daytona ATP by leaps and bounds.

.. now, ATP did make it possible for me to get my CFI's in less than 3 weeks, which is unheard of at ERAU.. but still, If you're looking to get real quality education.. ATP isn't the place to go.

This dude is the spokesman for Riddle.lol...... I mean seriously would we all not want to get to riddle but check out the cost of tuition and flight is extra. THEN, ask yourself why you call schools around there and they say half of the student are from Riddle because they get there rating faster and much cheaper..... I mean can you buy a 200hr block at Riddle? LOL

Deep pockets= deep egos""""

Uhm, no I wouldnt want to go to Riddle. I mean its a great school Im sure, but I wouldnt want to go there.

Once you get into the real world of flying, it doesnt matter anymore where you come from. At Colgan its a mix of FBO/Fast Track Programs/4 Year Colleges. They dont CARE! Maybe a few years ago, but not now....

Also, the Egos thing,.. Some of the pilots that I look up to most are from Riddle and the only reason I know they are from Riddle is because I asked. And anyway,... all pilots have big egos, thats why we are pilots

I don't see any sort of ego in his post.

I instructed with lots of people who got their CFI tickets from ATP and their knowledge wasn't up to speed with the rest of our staff. Lots of them used an in house examiner which is a good thing because the FSDO would have chewed them up and spit them out.

Got to keep in mind price too, what you did at ATP I dont know for a fact but I can take a guess you would have paid a lot more at ERAU. Can you really compare ERAU to ATP? I mean I think for you to state that is an unfair comparision in the 1st place. It appears ATP is loaded with ERAU guys at Daytona who are doing the CFI program... They must be doing something right...

Bro, I back you up on that statement. I mean im starting school over in Daytona in a month, and trust me EVERY school there is loaded with riddle students. One school I was looking at right now has about 200 riddle students that are part-time and full time! Lets face it they have a ton of planes on the ramp, but whenever I ride by there I always see them parked on the ramp.... .I mean lets face it I would much rather go with a school that is going to finish me up fast and for a set price then have wonder around the million dollar riddle campus and pay tons of money exluding the flying to get rolling. I am not for ATP or Riddle, but I am just saying go to the school on the KDAB strip and you will find tons of fed up students who want to pay up front, and not hour by hour like riddle offers. I mean aussie air has a Warrior for 79 an hour for Riddle student. Can riddle beat that price? I do think so. So you tell me.

Net net....cost is certainly an issue, but whether it's ATP, ERUA, Flight Safety, training is what you make of it. As a former student and instructor at ATP, I watched students sit around and expect to be spoon fed their education. Those are the same people who later complain about the lack of training.

The ones who studied on their own, took responsibility for their education, and blamed only themselves when they busted a checkride, are the pilots that employers respect the most - and who ultimately become great, professional pilots.

My 43 cents (adjusted for inflation!!)!!!
