Default 60 PPL program

Is there anyway I can just do the 60 day PPL program without doing the 44,000 dollar airline career thing that goes after it?

Why? You can do it for much cheaper at the local FBO.

No, you have to put a $1,500 deposit down for the career program before you do the private. At 85 hours for the program it comes out to about $105/hr for the instructor, a 172, and housing for 60 days. You may be able to find it cheaper -- if you did it would be a good price.
If you recalculate it with the $1,500 you would have to forfeit it would come out to $123/hr for plane + instructor. Still beats some FBO's out there. The planes are in good shape but they're kind of old, all IFR certified though.

I'm not sure you can beat the price of the PPL program. I did it last August and it was awesome. They get you done fast and with the housing provided, all you have do is bring linens, buy food and bring your brain. But no, you can not do the PPL program alone. The program was designed to help students meet the requirements for the ACPP, and if I'm not mistaken, the PPL program hasn't been around nearly as long as the career pilot program.

Private is probably the hardest license to get, not only is there a whole bunch of info but also you have to learn how to fly. You'd probably want more than a few weeks in order to be competent with all aspects of regs and flight.

First off why get your Private at ATP and then not do the career thing?

Im guessing you have either found another school for the more advanced ratings or you just want to fly for fun... If you want to fly for fun, ATP isn't the school you should goto. ATP isn't for the weekend warriors but more set up to get you the ratings you want and get you into a job in the aviation industry (instructing then onto something else). Research more and you will find that there are other places that will fit your needs if your plans are just flying as a hobby. If you want to get all your ratings and want to be a professional then ATP is the place to do it. But if it's just so you can fly your buddys around on a clear day I would look elsewhere.

^^^ I just want to get my PPL out of the way... I've been working on it on and off since 02' but because of school and other situations its taking forever.

I hoping that i could go to this 60 day PPL program and get these 85 hrs this summer then go to my FBO and get my instrument the next summer... Then just get a new rating every summer untill I go to ATP again for the CFI,I,MEI program.

Sooo by the time I am a senior in college i could get a job around here as a CFI.

I see what you are saying. If you are willing to loose the $1500 deposit you could do it.

I'm confused. If you're already working on the ppl why are you looking at ATP? ATP is not a mom and pop school for individual ratings, it's pro training.

Man I know that lol...

Like I just said I keep on starting on my PPL but something always happens that puts it on hold... So I was thinking taht if I just went somewhere to get this rating quick and get it out the way.

I just dont want to take the extra 90 days and 44k to do the pro training

GJ...

I'm thinking that if you plopped 6K in front of a local CFI/Flight School... and said... "get me done in less than two months..." they could do it.

Get it in writing... and that would put the pressure on you... and them to perform and "Git 'r done".
