| Does anybody know how exactly the ATP/UVSC program works? I looked on the ATP website and it does not explain it very well. It seems like the longest ATP program is 10 months, not nearly long enough to earn a bachelors degree with UVSC. So how can you go through the ATP program while getting the UVSC degree? Thanks you very much! ![]() |

Otherwise, with no college affiliation, you'd have to get a credit-based career training loan or personal loan to fully cover the cost of training.

| Old Skool | For UVSC in order to recieve financial aid for flight training you have to be registered as a Global Aviation Student and the flight school must be on the approved global aviation list (Just about every flight school in the country is). That way when applying for the financial aid your cost of education (what they base your award on) will be higher and your potential reward will also be higher. The Pell Grants and Stafford loans do have set limits however. If I remember correctly an undergrad student Pell cannot exceed $5000 per school year and Stafford cannot exceed $4000. This is Calendar year so if you are going Spring, Summer, Fall it will be spread out over those three semesters. These amounts will also have tuition and fees taken out of them so figure approx $1500 per semester for full time. In the end you will still be paying for the majority of your training, but going this route will offset the costs a bit. |

If people do want to go through UVSC DO NOT talk to the regular Financial aid people, they know nothing, and will tell you the wrong thing every time. Call the Aviation Financial Aid office at 877-336-8872. Rita, Tom, and Lindsey (though I am not sure she is still there) were the people that knew how to get you the most $$$$ for your flight training. | |

| I live 10 minutes from UVSC and I am presently doing thier online BS program. The first few classes seem very organized and easy to get through. I am also taking my Private Pilot with them and I am being treated as the costumer not the other way around, like I have herd others talk about in regaurds to other schools. Because of my situation I will probably go to an academy after I finish my PP license. On the down side of things I have herd people complain about getting enough multi time here due to lack of air craft. A problem that sounds like it is only going to get worse for the next year. You can take UVSCs online coarse from anywhere I would just make sure your school is accepted at UVSC for flight credits. I am not sure how the time frame plays out to complete BS in 10 months. I am just going to take as many classes as I can handle and see where it takes me. Best of Luck to you. |

| Here is one thing I currently in the UVSC course and I started my training with regional airline academy which by the way screwed my pretty good so I am now transferring to ATP which so far has been amazing... but anyway do not sign up for classes until after you have all of your ratings because if u do you have to go through all the ground courses all over again if you have all the certificates then they will give you college credit towards it which is like 38 credits so I would wait... see no one told me that if I would have known then I would have started after I had the certificates
