Default Getting Hired at ATP

Hello,

I am in the midst of just trying to get some sort of short term goal together to work for and one thing that I keep thinking about: I am going to be completing the CFI program at ATP in May/June, but I will still have 2 more years of school after I am done before getting my degree. Would it be possible (or likely) to get hired back at ATP after I finish school in a couple of years? I have a CFI gig already pretty much lined up here for when I get back from ATP, but it is a small school with no multi and after I graduate I am going to probably be looking for some gigs with a lot of time (such as ATP). I understand that a lot can change in a couple of years, but it makes me feel better by getting some sort of idea of the present stance of things. Thanks!

Maybe. It depends on the state of the airline industry and therefore the state of ATP, but as a two year CFI you have a lot of other opportunities as well.

After two years you'll be qualified to sign off people for their CFI. ATP is always in need of two year CFI's and typically hires them off the street. So if you did your CFI at ATP, that would give you a definite hand up on others as long as you do a good job. I'd recommend keeping in touch with some people there, too, if that's your end game goal in a couple of years.

I'd say your chances after two years would be pretty good.

Yeh, the most sought after instructor for ATP is a 2 year guy..

You'd be teaching ground school and flying with the CFI guys..
