Default Instructing time....

Here is my deal...
I have my PPL and approx. 90 hours logged. I am looking to enroll in ATP's 10 month program in Orlando. My question is what is the average length of time graduates from ATP's program end up flight instructing before interviewing or hire with regionals???

Any help appreciated.....

I am unsure what the average time is, but perhaps you can look on the airline placement section on their website and it would give you a general idea of how long they were in the program from beginning through hire time. Here is a link:

This thread might help you- http://forums.jetcareers.com/airline-transport-professionals-atp/35046-busiest-atp-locations.html

Ignore the post that implied my husband was being lazy. The poster has been away from the school for over a year and, in my opinion, wasn't really qualified to speak about the current situation.

Length of time really depends on: what location you are at (busy, slow?), student loads (lots of students or just a few), what you are teaching them (privates? career students? Add-ons?), weather, and sometimes random factors like whether the moon is in the 7th house of jupiter on the 3rd wednesday of the 2nd month of the year that starts with J.

In general, the larger locations in the southern parts of the US tend to get the most flight time. There are more students and better, consistent weather.

Right now the time is low... Many regionals need pilots bad. I have been at it now for 3 months and 3 of the guys I went through class with are already hired and I have interviews in FEB. It just depends on what the need of pilots are at the time.

I spoke to the Chief Pilot at the Arlington Location and he said his instructors averaged 6 months. Those going to ExpressJet averaged 2-3 months.
