Default Passed my Multi Checkride.

well I took my multi engine Checkride today and passed. however it was shcheduled on Monday. I got up early drove to Riverside, flew the plane to the DE in Upland (cable) we filled Tried to fill out this lousy program "IACRA" it wouldnt let me finish my application because my solo time was not met (since it was base don part 61, I did my training at UND part 141) so we call the help desk and the moron at the help desk says I cant take my checkride because I need to meet part 61 requirments (10 solo hours, I have 6.1) the DE diddnt catch it neither did my CFI. so we fly back to RAL thinking I should rent a plane and fly around for 3 hours. so my CFI calles JAX and they mention FAR 61.63 or somewhere there, states that I could have taken it. but nonetheless the computer program IACRA still wouldnt let me register so we all do it manually and call up the DE again.

the checkride consisted of:

oral: list V speeds, Fuel system, Factors of critical engine, Vmc factors

electric system, hydrallic system, vacuum system, and other subjects involving the seminole

flight: engien cut off on rollout, engine cut off on takeoff, single engine landing, short field take off/landing, Vmc demo, slow flight, power off stall, radio comms, landings, parking.

hope this helps to anyone whose going to enroll.

I was reading the PTS and I thought it said you have to feather a prop on a checkride unless it was unsafe to do so, or some such thing. Did you feather one on your ride?

We did a simulated prop feather and also I shut it down completly during the air start procedure. without the mags and alternators, and fuel selectors off.

Many of my friends and myself included have sent their students to Holmes who do not instruct for ATP and have had their students pass. Please enlighten me and the other readers with your all knowing wisdom, as to how you have come up with your absurd statement.

Way to go passing your first 90-day checkride! Instrument training follows next and is lots of fun; hopefully you enjoy it.

I am losing lots of sleep here in Las Vegas at the CFI Academy trying to figure out how I'll pass my initial CFI checkride with only 5 additional hours of Seminole training time (in the right seat vice 125 hours in the left) and 2-3 days to study every frickin thing a pilot has to know to the instructional level of knowledge. In other words, go celebrate and drink lots of beer for me since I can't.

Later and, again, congrats!!

The idea behind CFI school is not to teach you everything there is to know about aviation and teaching. You should already have the basics (PPL knowledge, Commercial , Instrument knowledge) down, since you already hold these licenses and ratings. And the CFI pretest should have helped you prep for some of the 'instruction knowledge." CFI school is meant to show you how to put together a lesson plan, teach it, and review of the FOI, along with some more depth into the FAR's (what is required to endorse, etc.) As far as the rest of the knowledge, you should know it already. When a student busts his CFI Initial checkride because he can't remember cloud clearences in VFR in Bravo, thats not due to CFI school being inadequite. They should know that already.

P.S. - CaptainChris87- congrats on your pvt multi!

True, but I'm still studying my butt off--I don't know everything that I've learned over the years and ratings attained to the "Instructional Knowledge Level" required to pass a CFI check ride and that's the plain truth! Spouting airspace cloud clearance requirements is one thing, but explaining SMACFUM, maneuvers, FARs, maintenance, weather, etc., to the level a CFI needs to know it is something I have yet to attain. I was just being candid in my last post.
