Default Introduction

Hello my fellow airmen. My name is Richard and I am 26. I am in the US NAVY (proudly) and have only a year and a half left to serve. I recently have been enquiring about flight schools in preperation for my transition from sailor to civilian. I am an Aviation Structural Mechanic, primarily assigned to the F/A-18 Hornet and the Super Hornet. I have minimal experience working on these superior war machines due to all the B.S. that runs with in the life blood of this great service. By the time I get out, actual time of sweat, blood, and tears dedicated to fixing them will be a little over a year or so. Everyone in the NAVY has a specialty called janitorial duties... i.e. cleaning over flowing #####ter$ and sinks filled with vomit from the night before. Not to mention finding a dildo in the MALE berthing! haha.... Please excuse that comment. Well, I can say that my interest has grown immensely durring my service, watching our jets blast off the flight deck at 2200 hours, however, I will not miss the time out at sea! I have zero flight time and wish to gain some. I once worked at Dulles International airport refueling corporate aircraft for 12 bucks an hour. That was fun I guess, the only down fall was my wife wouldn't come within 10 feet of me becuase I reeked of jet fuel. I love the smell of burning jet fuel in the morning. Anyhow, it's cool to be a part of this community.

Nice to meet you all.

Richard

I was thinking that dildo stuff was a tad inappropriate, but it made me laugh, so I'll let the next mod worry about it. Welcome Richard.

I agree the comment of a "play toy" was inappropriate. I appologize. I thought it was hilarious when we found it tho. Fly on my brothers fly on!

Welcome aboard the JC ship m8ee. No semen here!

If you are interested in this as a career, I suggest one thing: Read Read Read. Everything you want to know is answered here; Often in several ways, and then those ways are debated intensely over and over again. Because of that, it is alot of reading to get through, but well worth it.

Thanks for the advise, I take it with me on my adventure in life. I have been doing lots of reading and I find that everyone asks the same questions I do. In any case, If I have anymore questions, I will ask. Thanks again fellas.
