Default my ATP interview

well, I did my interview on July 14th, I did well on the exam an 88 22/25. basic simple questions except with the engine out procedure for a twin which I nailed some of them since I just listed out the warriors. I also missed a question with the DF steer. For the oral he taught me the effects of an engine out on a twin slipsteam effect, p factor, roll tendancies and the difference if it happen on the left or right side. then surprisingly he made my teach it back to him. the sim went alright, it was realley sensative I got good and excellents on it except holding altitude part. the apartments at RAL also look good. my first impression was it was ok since when I walked in nobody was there and the person conducting the interview, was late and the building was just a few bathrooms, offices, a test room, one sim, and a couch area, quite a change comming from UND. I also found out I need to build 15 hours cross country time which is good because they will introduce me to flying in so cal airspace as well as basic instrument proecedures and approaches during this phase and give me a heads up for the 90 day, overall they seem focused in getting you done at the right time, hotels an dhousing provided witht he 90 day, they have their own mx facility and mediocre fleet. -anyways hope this helps to anymore prospects with ATP.

The RAL apartments seemed quite a ways away from the airport, but I guess that's a good thing considering the neighborhood it's in. I miss Del Taco though (which was near RAL) - bear in mind that I only did a little training with ATP. Not continuing at UND?

Mediocre fleet? ATP has the largest fleet of Seminoles in the world. 67 PA44's is hardly mediocre... Hmmm... as I'm typing this I'm thinking that you probably meant that statement based on what you saw specifically at that location when during your visit... maybe 1 cessna and 1 Seminole with 1 in the MX hangar? Most ACPP locations have 1 cessna and 4 seminoles as a norm... so a few may have been out on XC or local training.

Rest assured... you will not be without a Seminole for training. If one goes down for MX and one is needed for training... then one is typically on the way from another facility.

Good luck at ATP... and keep us posted.

Bob

Then why are you there? You treat the plane like its crap, thats what you'll get back from it.

Maybe he's referring to the fact that RAL is primarily 79s? Not sure. As you all know, some 79s were mediocre, while others trimmed out beautifully.

Learn how to spell too chief. And not everything you fly in life will be brand new and have glass cockpits. Not to mention it doesnt take much to fly a glass cockpit, just point and shoot kinda thing. And you will get to see the new Seminoles. Get through your training and I bet you'll have a different view on ATPs birds. Just dont get Chicken Killer and you'll be fine.

...easy there 'nole...

I don't think he meant anything bad by the comment... he's just comparing from where he came from. It makes sense from that perspective.

If someone comes from Joe's FBO... I'm sure they think ATP's fleet is da shiznit... coming from UND... maybe not so much.

Good point..I think im just a lil stressed. We have our checkride in 2 days, with IOE in less than a week. I'm under the weather and overstressed so lil things are getting to me. Especially with the booty rate going to nil since we got to training a month or so ago.

Apology accepted......but yeh Captain bob is right, no way am I degrading, insulting, looking down and putting ATP's plane and its facility in any derrogoroty mannar, I like its program and its feedback and focus in getting you done. something UND lacked. and yes to C-150 when I looked at RAL's fleet they had 3 of the 1979's. and even their cessna is from the 70's. compare those with UND's 2003/2002 warriors, arrows, and seminoles...then you'll see, however I dont care you get your lisence one way or another and I have confidence in ATP's MX department.

and flying bird look at UND's boards and look my name up you'll see why.
-thanks to everyone who gave me feedback on ATP.
