Default Flight Planning

Howdy folks.

How do you guys do your flight planning? I was thinking about getting one of those commercial software. It says it can download the plan into your GPS (portable). Anybody know anything about this.

I got my Denali ANR headset a couple of days ago and I can say that I will not go back to passive anytime soon. For me the difference was night and day. WOW!

Default Re: Flight Planning

Personally, I would never rely on a handheld GPS for primary navigation. I like to plan the XC the old fashioned way, pick out waypoints and use the whizwheel. I sometimes print out a flight plan from DUAT as a double-check, but since it doesn't give you visual checkpoints its usefulness is limited. I figure if all goes well, I can look forward to many years of flight directors and FMS systems.
