| I have made the commitment to start March 6th at ATP in DFW. I will be going though Private and ACPP programs and need some info. If I get atleast my Private written done before I start, how busy is my day going to be for the first two months? Is it possible to work 2 or 3 hours a night? I would say NO, however others may need/want to chime in! But i'm sure if you are doing all that in the time frame that's your full time commitment..... Any other thoughts?

i just finished the pvt class at dfw and it's a great place to be. instructors are great and the office/school is one of the best out there. i got my written done before starting and i must say, the private class was a breeze. the cheif pilot there wants you to stay at the school and study if you're not flying. so basiclly it's a 8-5 job. i must be honest and say that i've never done any studying outside of school. so i'm pretty much free after 5pm everyday. if you mange your time well and are really at the top of the game, i'm sure 2 or 3 hours of work won't be a big distraction during your private class. ACPP is a completely different story...

Thanks for the info. Another question, should I bring my desktop computer to the school? and where are the apartments that are not on the airport/office? |

Goodluck to you! ATP is a great school. I did the PPL program in JAX back in Aug. and had a blast. Now I'm in the ACPP and I can't believe I'm almost done. Some things about ATP are a little disorganized as you'll find later on, especially during the x/c phase. They don't seem to know more than one day in advance what your schedule is. So pretty much you're living out of a duffle bag, crashing on the couch in people's apartments not knowing whats next. But I should be done soon. The airplanes are great and the training is top notch. I had a blast with my multi add-on and instrument rating. I had an awesome instructor at TTN (self paced) and we got along great and had a lot of fun, but its amazing how much you learn so quickly. I remember the day I soloed in Jax in the PPL program. Seems like it was yesterday, now I'm flying the Seminole all over the place and its fun. The Seminole is one heck of an awesome airplane. Goodluck to you! I can't comment on the program in DFW, but seeing how ATP runs at other locations, I'd say you can't go wrong. I'm sure you'll have a blast. |

So should I bring my computer or not? Also, if I am doing the five months together, will I be in the same room the whole time.
