Hey guys- I'm thinkin about doing the program.. Not really for the "connection" part of the program, but more so if I get a regional job, maybe IOE will be a little easier.. What did you think about the program as a helpful aid to being more prepared in IOE.. Thanks guys.. Jeff |

I didn't do it so I can't really say much, however... I wouldn't worry about IOE. I would worry more about the sim. An FTD is going to be more help with flying the sim then the real plane. That said, it didn't take me too long to adapt to the sim. One of the guys in my class did an RJ thing at Riddle (FTD) and said it didn't really help that much and the one or two guys with types already (which is a whole other issue) said that it took about 2 sessions for it to come back to them. |

From the guys I know that have gone through it, they have all said that it was worth it and that the airline sim training was pretty much dead on with what you're shown in the RJ program.

[ QUOTE ] Not really for the "connection" part of the program, [/ QUOTE ] You mean there is some other reason to do the CRJ program besides the "connection"?!?! I have heard the same things as jbp1stated about the CRJ program. My friends who have done it said the training is excellent, and feel they got their moneys worth and more. However, I know of several other instructors including myself that didnt do the CRJ program and did fine in training and IOE. Save your thousand and just read the turbine pilots flight manual. Thats a great book and very informative. |

Hey Jeff, For me it was well worth taking the program. It was helpful in understanding the different levels of automation that you will find flying more advance equipement. I also used it as a tool during the interview process. I was asked what have you done to prepare yourself to jump from what you are instructing in to a Jet...my reply was the CRJ program. You have already invested a lot of money and time to your career. My personal opinion is you can never be to prepared. Esp. if you get the instructor discount. Mark I would personally recommend the program. |
