I finished the ATP ACPP on September 22 2004 and I just got hired by a local flight school here in Colorado. All the hard work has finally paid off. Here is a link to the school that hired me - McAir It is a great place to work at, good pay, benefits, an office / desk, all brand new aircraft including 2 new Seminoles, a 182 with the G1000, and 3 172's with the G1000 arriving this spring. Can't wait for my first student. Thanks ATP. |

Congrats on the job on colorado, how did you get that job there, is that where you trained prior to ATP, or did you just go out to all the flight schools in that area looking for an opening? Did they tell you how many students/ hours you could expect there?

As far as getting the job I got my foot in the door by contacting one of the owners about doing some Graphic Design work for them (I have a BFA in Graphic Design). He was really interested in having me do some work for them and that is how it started. They thought it would be good to have me work there because I can instruct and do Graphics for them, which works well for me because its more money in my pocket. One of the other instructors that they recently hired has been waiting to be hired for over a year, so that puts it in perspective. As far as student load goes. They wont hire a new instructor until every instructor is satisfied with their current load of students. So it's as many as I want or can handle, I will probably average about 75 hours a month but I could possibly get much more than that if i bust my hump. |
