Could anybody tell me what it's like to fly the Citation? Where do you fly to? Do you actually get to land?

Flying the Citation was enjoyable and will always be remembered. You get to do practically everything.......takeoff, land, shoot approaches, emergency descents, etc.... Its just an introduction to turbine aircraft. The program includes 3 hours in the Citation and you will receive your high-performance and high-altitude endorsements.

That sounds great about the CJ. What type of equipment does it have up front? Does it have EFIS?

That's not what I meant, but was a clever way of looking at it. I think it is a great part of the program. I look forward to it.

The citation ride was a blast. it was a little taste of what we are all working towards. I had never even sat in the front seat of a jet before so it was quite an experience. I took off with the owner of ATP in the left seat and half way through he switched with the citation pilot. we flew from JAX to Meridian Mississippi. Climbed up to FL310 and got a great view of the sunset. The whole citation thing is more of a thank you for attending the program cause it does cost quite a bit to operate that thing. it's a fun ride and that is all it is meant to be. have fun.

The flight I took went from Dallas to Las Vegas. I flew with Jim K, the VP and Derrick, the owner, was in the back watching. He taxiied, my airplane, I set take off power, N1, Vr, rotate, positive rate gear up, V2, climb speed set. Did alot of vectoring with the auto pilot. Stepped up to 10,000', 24,000', then settled in at 28,000'. Talked briefly about systems, donned the O2 maskes, emergency descent, descent planning. We did a visual approach, which was interesting 1500' AGL, turn base, then final. Didn't flare, landed smooth, he put it to idle and thrust reversers deployed, and he taxiied. It is a chance for the higher powers of the company to check up on the training, and look for potential new instructors for ATP. Derrick and Jim both asked about there instructors and what they thought could be improved. Most students are then taken out for lunch or dinner, not burgers and dogs, nice restaurants, mostly their favorites, but on our trip there was business that needed to be attended to, so Derrick apologized, which was unnecessary, handed us a $100.00. Set us up in an apartment for the night, and thanked us for our input. It was a blast.
