ALPA commercial for next weekend

Idea for a 30sec commercial spot:

Narrator:
A couple weeks ago a flight was in the news that overflew the minneapolis airport in which pilots were distracted by their laptops. The plane landed safely due to a system already in place from the pilots teammates, flight attendants. No persons died, and not a passenger knew about the event until afterwards.

*show some news paper clippings of the plane*

Consider a few months back, on a flight to Buffalo, a crew that was very tired due to the ill effects of fatigue crashed and killed everyone onboard. Congress has not passed a bill to limit 16 hour duty times placed on a crew yet still.

Congress can't fix everything, but they can certainly get back to work passing a bill which has been stalled due to industry concerns about their bottoms lines.

If we are going to ban laptops from cockpits for single event, then lets ban computers from congress too.

Although, they don't have the money NATCA does to drop some major coin on a national TV spot on CNN, Fox News, or MSNBC.

NATCA's "We Guide You Home." campaign was great, now if only ALPA could do a "We get you home safe, if we're not tired. . ."
