| I doubt much hiring will be going on anywhere any time soon... Why wouldn't an Alpa carrier try to get furloughed pilots? That is after the ranks of 600hr pilots get hired of course ;-)

I know our contract had an LOA for preferential hiring of furloughed ALPA pilots. Although, most were dated back when the majors were furloughing left and right post-9/11. Who knows if our MEC will seek to offer the same assistance to our furloughed MAG ALPA brothers and sisters. In reference to transition classes. I would imagine they're still running recurrent as required by federal law.

All the training classes were cancelled because 1) Most of the people going through training will be furloughed 2) Mesa can't afford it. On the plus side the people who were downgraded and going through FO training keep captain pay... until... well, their last paycheck will be at CA rates probably!

Except for Go! Isn't Mesa's flying regional feed, therefore no flying that Mesa "owns". Why should they get preference over other applicants? | |

| Old Skool | I strongly disagree. Every airline is different. Yes, there are a few out there that will say that furloughed employees will be interviewed if they wish, but I've seen some do and some don't, so no, not just any airline.

If they go Chapt. 7 then Skywest, and Gojet for the United flying still have pilots in a pool to burn through before they hire..Airlines like PSA and PDT for Airways still have pilots on furlough and in a pool to burn through as well. On the Delta side Comair has alot on furlough and once again a pool to go through. So there might not be alot of hiring for a while.

I don't know of any regional airline that will be able to staff Mesa's flying without hiring IF they go Chap. 7 unless it is divided up into parts and given to something like 6 or 7 regionals: 96 Airplanes will remain in revenue service after April: CRJ 200 - 10 USAir CRJ 700 - 20 UAL CRJ 900 - 38 USAir ERJ 145 - 22 Delta DCH 8 - 6 USAir Add the 28 CRJ 200 UAL flying that is not being renewed and the 10 DCH-8 in Denver. I'm guessing the UAL RFP is for a complete replacement of Mesa. I bet the winner will hire. Also, IF the 38 USAir 900 flying goes up for grabs whoever gets that will have to hire IMO.

Thank you for the analysis. Now we know what will happen IF they no longer exist.

| That means there's a strong possibility of out of seniority furloughs if they file BK. But then again if they do file bk it would mean downsizing anyways. I don't know what their contract says about out of seniority furloughs but I'd be woried if I was in an airframe that is not wanted by management. Am I right?

| That's worst case. DIP(Debtor In Possession) financing is the make or break when it comes to corporate bankruptcy. It allows the company to retain ownership and control over its assets, which is Ch.11. If you don't get DIP financing they have to surrender it's non-exempt property(leased aircraft are exempt assets) to a banckrupcy trustee, that liquidates those assets and uses the proceeds to pay off the debtor's unsecured creditors.

What most of us have known for a while now though is that they (the company - not frontline employees) haven't been too wise in the operation of the company. First they step on the toes of Daddy Delta, get roped into a protracted legal fight, and yet they're still pouring money into it. Second, ah hell. . .I don't have a real second. . . Third, it's been known for sometime now that they were not in great financial shape overall. The reduction of 36 flying aircraft has been perceived as the final nail in the coffin for what is (was) Mesa Air Group. And it wasn't a secret that United wasn't going to renew the CRJ flying and was pretty well understood they would terminate the Dash flying. Their 10-Q filing referenced the lack of capital and how losing this flying would jeopardize the long term operation of the company. The curtain is coming down on Mesa Air Group. JO wasn't as smart as he thought he was. But he'll surely be able to ride off into the distance, sneaking his way onto a Board of Directors for a regional airline near you soon. . . It's a shame really, for the employees.

Didn't a similar scenario occur in the late 90s, and that contraction allowed SkyWest to operate all those brasillias for UAL? That's when they had the UPS driver uniforms on the West Coast.... |

| Lol, God I love you little guy. On a side note, after JO leaves we need to round up a posse and find ourselves a tree.

| Yes. This is the second time MAG has lost flying from UA.
