Default Colgan IAD Lines

Uhhhh. I thought these lines were supposed to get better with 3 bases closing and merging with IAD. These lines totally suck. I guess if you are very junior and/or you are a commuter they are better but for the top 25 percent, the lines simply suck. Only 3 lines with weekends off ?! and those lines have reserve days! OCT will be the crappiest schedule that I have had in almost 2 years. I guess I need to stop being so lazy and get involved with the scheduling committee. We need some people at the top of the seniority list to get involved. Who is with me?!

How about LGA? 12 FO's and 2 lines. Give me a break! The only flying for the LGA people to do is ITH...and they give CHO the ITH overnights leaving nothing but RSV for LGA guys/gals.

Who's doing the HYA/ACK/MVY flying? I figured the LGA base would at least be doing some of it.

How do you have 2 lines?
That is less then one plane worth of flying.

THis must be the obama scheduling plan. Spread the wealth. 25 lines and only 4 have weekends off? As far as days off goes, it looks better, and now we are back to 4 day trips instead of 8 leg day trips. When are they going to get rid of this reserve days in a line crap? THat's the purpose of being a line holder. How the heck does someone commute when they have reserve days built into their lines? I appreciate the work of the scheduling committee. Without them, we wouldn't even have these lines. I'd be washing Dot's car inbetween 16 hr days or something. ALthough improved, we still have a long way to go, at least at IAD.

How about you email us at cjcscheduling@alpa.org to voice your concerns. SCE is not full closed yet, and they have weekends off. In November they will be fully closed.

The reserve days at the beginning will be used by overlapping schedules. You won't actually be sitting reserve, and with 17 days off are you really complaining about that line?

This is definately Obama's doing. Redistribution of wealth. All I'm saying is that with 25 lines, 8 or 9 should have off every Sat and Sun and either a Fri or Mon tacked on. This is how a senior line should be. Junior people should be working weekends.

I have been telling everyone for weeks that this is exactly how it would work out.

I'm not bitching here. I do believe the lines have seen a much needed improvement. Days off are up across the board as well as pay cred's. I also understand that this will be a transition month because we don't have all of the other bases flying yet. I'll fire off another e-mail to the committee with my concerns because this is not the place to air those types of issues. Overall, much better for all of the pilots in IAD. I have aired my beliefs to the committee chairman on the reserve issue however. 17 days off or not, the number one line holder in the base should not have anything on his schedule that says reserve.. ever. It's not a fault or oversight of the committee. IT's the old school, junior varsity mentality of Colgan MGMT. Just like the erosion of Captain's authority, senority means nothing to Colgan Mgmt. The scheduling committee is dealing with the most inept, ass backwards Mgmt group around, so I commend your efforts.
