I think some were furloughed 9/1/08 and the rest 9/14/08 or something like that, a total of around 65, others might know the exact numbers, I think around 8-10 have been asked to come back.

No, he was saying one bypassed when you asked how many did they have to ask to come back.

I wish that were the case, sorry about the confusion, I did not mean all have been recalled, AWAC has recalled 10 people, 1 bypassed. Still a bunch of us on the street.....

Heard from a reliable source Flight Express is about to bomb a good chunk of pilots and mechanics, most of whom are my personal friends. I'll edit when I get a definite answer.

Thank you Washington for sucking off the scum of Wall Street and the *deleted* of the Middle East and screwing us all!

Sorry to hear that. Heres to it not being as bad as you heard.

On that note, just wanted to remind everyone of my intent for this specific thread. We can all speculate why/how/when, but I figured it'd be best to at least leave one thread just detailing the facts of the various industry furloughs above all the clutter.

All furloughees from 2001 at United had been recalled and we had new hires on the property before this round began last year.

Currently, as of 1/21/09, there are 606 on furlough at United, with 150 more scheduled to go on April 22. The next round after that will be in May or June. The total projected furloughs will be 1,450. That number includes people on LOA, so the total number of active flying pilots is expected to be 950. Thanks Glenn Tilton.

Wow. That makes United smaller than Pinnacle.

I think the number of active pilots furloughed will be 950....leaving a total number of pilots not screwed at a larger number, substantially, than that

Thank you Polar, you are correct. The total number of active pilots furloughed will be 950, total pilots furloughed will be 1,450 including those on LOA. United will have about 6,300 active pilots flying, at least, when this furlough is complete. That is not an official number, but off the top of my head it sounds close to correct. The April 22 furlough will cut the list down to seniority number 7100, but that number includes pilots on LOA. There will be more furloughs to follow that.

Sorry if I confused some of you!

Atlas has had another round of furloughs rumored to be 100 pilots, no official number from the company. When the official number is posted, I'll update.

AWAC is now planning on recalling 8 more on top of that for June '09, as well as upgrading 8 Captains that were downgraded back in September.

25 recalls now
