Better than a DUI or domestic violence or a number of other things. Nobody was being hurt or harmed. Things got a little crazy. Too bad he got caught. It wouldn't stop me from hiring him. (If I were in that position)

I guarantee it would have been published, AND their occupations would have been stated. How often does one find a naked couple in the woods? The guy was found hiding after asking someone for a pair of shorts!

It's a funny article, regardless of their jobs, we've just picked up on it since they're crew. But it is very common to have people's occupations stated in an article like this.

An update from today's paper:

Quote:
The pilot -- who police found shortly before midnight -- had been scheduled to fly out of Harrisburg International Airport to Detroit at 7:30 a.m. Monday, a Pinnacle Airlines official said.
This is probably *much* more of a career-killer than having an old DUI. Getting drunk, naked, and arrested on an overnight with an early show is about as bad as you can get without actually trying to get on the airplane intoxicated.

Pilots make for good news.

Besides, I think if it were a school teacher or a minister, their professions would have made the news as well. The public likes to see airline pilots as consummate professionals, not as a bunch of cool "dudes" that grooving in a totally new kinda way.

I know Harrisburg is a boring layover... last time my crew and I had beers and went bowling - but this guy must be a real party animal!

I vote for a merge with the Quagmire thread.

Although the Quagmire thread's postion is, that due to being first it requests naming rights, as well as a DOH integration.

I believe this thread is requesting a "ratio'd" integration.

The Quagmire thread vehemently protests the position of this thread, and further feels it's career expectations have been hampered by the smaller size of this thread.

Further, past merges on JC have always been based on DOH.

Also, as we know, Size Matters (tm)

From the Desk of the Quagmire MEC:

Today we've reached an important milestone. Some of us have been here for decades, and some only for weeks. The significance is the same.

The line in the sand has been drawn. There has been talk of the "other" thread's direct negotions with management without consulting YOUR MEC. These actions are unscrupulous. It is our assertion that the management has absolutely NO regard for YOUR futures.

We will hold strong, enforce our CBA and follow the process to it's fullest. I know there maybe some tensions out there. We ask you keep being the professionals we know you all are. Let your MEC handle the tense negotiations.

That is all the information for now.

Fly safe.

Your update from the Quagmire MEC.

It is nothing short of an abomination to the labor groups on both sides for the continued stonewalling.

Everyday, replies from both sides (even though the Quagmire has WAY more replies) are losing real power. There are "Low Reply" threads that pop in and take some of our traffic. There are posts in the Lavatory, that we barely even call posts, taking our traffic. For shame.

As the stalemate continues, all members of the International Association of JetCareers Keyboard Ninja Brotherhood Union (IAJCKNBU) are losing out. Bandwidth is being diverted, our group is having the chasm widened.

Our patience is running out. We call on our Legislative Representitives to push this merger through!!

No more lost replies! No more suffering!!

In unity.

Is it wrong that I find the thread integration tangent way more amusing then a naked pilot running around the woods?

No, it is absolutely acceptable reaction to the great sense of humor of Polar.

That's kind of the world we live in. The general public wants to think that, even though we're not "worthy" of anything more than a median income in their eyes, they expect grey-haired, steely-eyed personal and professional perfection.

What's going to be on the late night comic circuit?

Final Update

We applaud the powers that be for working together, making this merger a reality. There were, quite literally, thousands of man hours spent making sure the rights of all our International Association of JetCareers Keyboard Ninja Brotherhood Union (IAJCKNBU) are protected.

We were able to come to a fair agreement that will allow this thread to move forward. Hopefully we can regain the trust of those posts that may not have been attached to this thread due to the turbulence generated by these last few minutes.

Most of all, we'd like to thank our line Keyboard Ninjas for your professionalism, unity and support. We spend the countless hours volunteering because you're such professionals.

Be proud of this achievement. Bask in it's glory (but not for more than 5 minutes, that was deemed "gloating" in the arbitrator's decision).

Peace and chicken grease,

YOUR elected representitives
